I was lucky enough to be able to visit one of my best friends in Ecuador over my Spring Break this year. It's the end of my first day here, and I'm overwhelmed by all of the beautiful knits! We went to the artisanal market today to pick up some souvenirs and I could barely contain myself. It seams the Ecuadorians have a fascination with llamas, so there was a ton of great knitwear with various llama motifs - which I loved!
And check out this one of a kind crocheted mask! I don't know where you would wear such a thing, but it was freaking awesome.
My favorite part was getting to see an artist at work. She was crocheting a beautiful bowl faster than I ever thought possible! In my broken Spanish I tried to tell her that I crochet and knit, too, and she showed me some more of her work photographed below.
