I knit this cowl for my youngest sister years ago, but I've made many since because the pattern (from The Purl Bee) is so fun, colorful, and unique! Not to mention warm (I don't know about you but where I am right now its about 7 degrees right now)! The Brioche cowl has everything you would want in a scarf: it's the perfect length, it's reversible, and it's thick. Everyone I've made one for tells me they get stopped and complimented on it all the time!
Knitting this cowl was the first time I ever knit brioche, and I fell in love. Brioche creates such a luxurious fabric. It almost looks like ribbing from far away, but as you stretch the fabric you can see that there's so much more going on. Knitting it in two colors just makes it that much more dimensional. Mixing colors for this pattern is so much fun. So far I've made a teal and pink one, a purple and deep blue one, and a grey and red one. Years after my first cowl Gina's Brioche Cowl is still one of my favorite scarf patterns. Now I just have to make myself one!
