I'm super excited about my new packaging for my FOs! For businesses, the packaging is essential. But for personal gifts some fancy looking packaging is the perfect finishing touch, too! After working so hard knitting a project for someone else - whether that's a customer on Etsy or a close friend - it feels incomplete to just hand over the gift or throw it in the mail.
So here are some simple instructions to make some handmade packaging for your knitting! Here are the materials you will need:
- Nice card stock paper
- Paper cutter
- Sticker maker (or sticker or tape)
Decide on an image you want, and upload it onto a computer. There are lots of good generic outlines of knitting needles and such already on the internet, or you could draw something yourself and scan it in. You could also opt out of an image for a typed message or name. Once it's on there make sure you rotate it so that its sideways, and then put two images side by side onto the center of a document. I found that the easiest way to do this on Microsoft Office is to create two columns on a document and drag an image into each column.
Print the document onto the card stock paper and then use the paper cutter to cut the paper in half. If you are using a sticker maker follow the instructions for your machine to make some cutie stickers. Wrap your finished object with the label and secure with the sticker!
